Cheap Travel Options can be tricky to find

January 23rd, 2010

 Powered by Max Banner Ads

Most will have searched for cheaper holidays online at some point in their lives since the internet became more easily available, finding the right holiday at the right price though can still be tricky.

Larger websites have now employed more people and have more affiliates working for them which therefore increases the costs of a chosen holiday which, perhaps five years ago, would have been that little bit cheaper.

Location also plays a major factor as, depending on where you travel from, extra costs such a airport tax and travel to the airport can take it´s toll. There are numerous online sites that are still able to provide a decent holidays break that does not stretch the budget and in many cases fits in neatly with all of your holiday plans.

The key to finding cheap holidays is not alwas to go for the first one that you find but to shop around in your own time and not be rushed into making a decision too early. Whether you intend on taking the family with or not, it is always best to involve them in making the choice, afterall it is their holiday too!

Many will search for holidays as part of a hobby, a good example of this would be golfing holidays or perhaps even hotels with a casino theme, although many now tend to play at online casinos there is still room for holidays with the added advantage of being able to take a bigger part than just lounging in the sun, these types of holidays believe it or not can be some the cheaper ones that you would be more likely to find on a cost versus budget scenario and one that should not be left to the last minute.

We all need a holiday at some point in our lives whether it is once a year or every two years but the main thing is that each and every option is looked into first before paying over the odds for your preferred choice of destination.

How to choose a hotel when traveling abroad

January 11th, 2010

In order not to be disappointed in your vacation, it is very important to choose the right hotel, where you stay.  You must determine where your hotel is  located , its level, the availability of amenities, food, as you are able to spend money to stay in it. Select the options that are of fundamental importance. In considering the location, you should pay attention to the distance from the destination of your trip so that it  is easily accessible from the airport, making trips to museums or going to the beach.

If you eat at your work, it is essential to find a hotel located near the place of your work. So you will save on transport. The level of the hotel or its stardom in every country. Five stars, for example in Dubai may correspond to six, seven stars, and in Kenya or Uganda, you can safely remove one star to correctly understand the level of the hotel. But the rules there are exceptions, do not forget it.  The presence of stars hotels mainly defines a specific set of services. Decide what you need. Where do you come from and how much you’re willing to pay for services.

If you are a student and want to devote all your time in  museums, exhibitions, you’ll like a small family-run hotel or guesthouse. If you want to relax on the beach without thinking about food, entertainment, you’d better choose a hotel 5 or 5 + stars. When choosing the hotel treat nutrition very carefully. For it will affect your health and mood. Choose a hotel where there is habitual for Us to  European food and also there is an opportunity to taste the local cuisine e.g kenyan cuisine in Kenya hotels.  There you can select the food system. Will this system be all inclusive  or you only want to eat breakfast and dinner, or you want to eat outside. It all depends on your desires and opportunities, you have choosen a great choice.

In some countries, there are hotels that do not take children. So if you want to relax and not hear a baby crying, do not stumble on other people’s children, you’ll like your hotel without the presence of children. But, for example, in Kenya, you are unlikely to find such a hotel. As you know, the higher the level of the hotel the higher prices for its services. Therefore you should not consider only one option. Consider a few, and compare them by price, number of delivered services. For example, in kenya, you can book your kenya hotel with a breakfast and lunch in a cafe

So everyone must think and calculate. I want to just note, when you have more or less determined option to the hotel.  See reviews of your hotel, do not ignore their comments, they will help you understand what you waiting what you waiting for admission, some meals, as far from place to place, all you find there. Since very often flyers, descriptions of the Internet, do not correspond to reality. And you risk being  severely disappointed in your selected location. Have a good travel!

How to travel on budget

December 9th, 2009

Traveling cheap or on a budget is not easy, but definitely not that hard either. One has to set upper limits and then take care that it is not crossed.

So for example you are traveling on a budget of 700 dollars for 7 days including everything.

Two things you should work on:-

  1. Set upper limits and don’t exceed them e.g. if you can’t spend more then 40 dollars on lodging for a day. Then stick to it, find something within your range even if it requires more effort.
  2. Employ techniques which will help you cut the costs.

Ways to do cost cutting while traveling

-         Try going with a friend or a group. It’s always cheaper to find deals for more number of people then less.

-         Try couch surfing or home exchange. This way you really don’t spend anything on lodging part.

-         Find a travel companion or local buddy to hang out with. This can be done through various buddy websites. Having a local known in the area will give you the edge by shopkeepers and hotels not quoting you high prices.

-         If in a group, you can try hitch hiking and covering few distances this way. Traveling in group will make it safe and hitch hiking will save you lot of commute cost.

-         Make use of Hostels or dorms instead of hotels for staying. They are a lot cheaper and satisfactory for short stays

-         If you want to travel for longer periods like a year then you can try finding professional or cultural exchange programs, or volunteer schemes which will help you cut the basic costs. You can gain some experience as well as enjoy traveling.

-         Travel as light as you can. Backpack instead of carrying that bulky luggage. It will make you more adaptable and vigilant to take quick actions!

How to Plan a Skiing Vacation For Your Family

December 4th, 2009

When planning a skiing vacation for your family it can either be fun or a hassle. You will want to follow some simple tips for making your skiing vacation affordable and fun. You will need to take your time and do things right or you could have a very hectic and crazy vacation that you will more than likely not even enjoy. When you take the time to plan the perfect skiing vacation your family will thank you.

The first thing you should work on is your budget. You have to have a budget so that you know what amount of money will be spent on what activity. You will want to decide how much you want to spend on accommodations and activities. Accommodations can vary drastically and the prices of these accommodations can also be very different. You can rent privately owned homes, villas, condos, cabins, and apartments. These accommodations can be rented nightly, weekly or monthly.

You can usually get one of these properties at a very affordable rate. There is no middle man to deal with and the owners are usually very fair about their prices. You can usually get a private owner to negotiate the price if you find something you like but can not afford. There are also many resorts and hotels to choose from regardless of where you choose to take your ski vacation.

The prices on these accommodations can vary drastically. As with any hotel the price will depend on how nice the place is and what amenities they offer. When visiting a ski resort on vacation you may end up paying more than at a regular resort or hotel.

This is because of the convenience of the location. You can simply walk out of the resort and head straight to the lifts to start your skiing. The amount of snow and the height of the mountains will depend on where you go for vacation. Some places have smaller mountains that are easier to ski on while others have very large mountains.

Ski resorts will have different types of runs and you should check with the hotel as to what type they have. Some runs are easier for people learning to ski and children. There are also ski runs that are very advanced and difficult. When trying to decide where to stay on your trip you may want to consider how many people will be going. If you only have a couple of people then a resort may be a good idea.

However if you have a large number of people taking this vacation you may want to consider renting a cabin on the mountain. Resorts may be expensive but they are very luxurious. This is great for a couple on vacation alone. Although a cabin will offer more privacy from the outside world.

You will also need to decide whether you want to buy or rent skis. If this is your first time skiing it is best to rent the skis. You will want to purchase the damage insurance plan that is offered. If you are a long time skier and plan to ski a lot more in the future then it may be time to buy your own pair of skis.

BC real estate offers ski condos that are perfect for a little family time. It includes everything such as kitchen appliances, and also offers great scenery as well.
